📡 Telematics

• Not all telematics transmit the same information, e.g. some assets do not transmit information about idling hours. Telematics corresponds to the telecommunication process installed on the equipment. This non-homogeneous process from one asset to another (depending on the make, year, model...) transmits a set of variable data.
• Initialization of the telematics: Be careful if your telematics has been badly initialized during the installation there can be a difference between the mechanical meter and the telematics meter.

📞 Subscription

For optimal visibility of the daily use of the asset, it is necessary to have at least one message per day. However, the frequency at which messages are sent can vary depending on the subscription your company has taken out.

🔌 API

Manufacturers receive a lot of data from their machines, but that doesn't mean that they expose all that data to their users via their application or APIs. Some industries such as the International Association of Manufacturers of Construction Equipment develop standards (AEMP standard). The most common :

• AEMP 1.2 APIs
• AEMP 2.0 APIs

But respecting the standards is not an obligation, therefore only a few manufacturers currently support an AEMP 2.0 API.

What is an API? It is an interface that allows to communicate and exchange data between machines. It is via this tool that we retrieve data from your equipment.

🔑 Missing login information

To retrieve data from an asset we need to connect to a Source of data. In some cases, for some brands (e.g. Volvo) more than one Source is needed to recover data from the asset. If we don't have all the permissions to connect, some of the data will not be recovered.
