🛣️ Trips

The Feature

The Trips feature allows you to display the routes taken by your vehicles, and understand where it has been during a given period.

Use cases may vary:

The Guide

To use this feature, you need to:

 1. Identify the vehicle you are interested in and access its profile page
 2. Click on Trips in the sub-navigation of the page
 3. Explore the data:

The Data Used

Hiboo is a data aggregator (among others) and is dependent on the quality of the data sent by sources (manufacturers, telematics, etc.) and this is particularly true for Trips. The higher the quality of the received data, the more interesting the Trips feature will be.

To display a route, we need to receive:

 1. Activity data
 2. Several GPS positions during these activity periods

ℹ️ We realize that telematics sources (Wefleet, Connectic, Ocean, etc.) are the most compatible with the Trips feature because they send activity data and have a good frequency of sending positions.

Filtered Data

ℹ️ We have decided to only display a route when we receive at least 2 positions on the activity.

It may happen that data sources provide unreliable information. In order to make it as easy as possible for you to read the trips, we have chosen not to show you cases where we receive less than 2 different positions during the activity.

This can happen if the activity is too short or if the source does not correctly send us GPS positions.

ℹ️ The Trips feature remains available, even for sources that are not compatible with Trips. It allows for more precision as it displays all received positions (but is less readable).
