🌐 Your workspaces

The creation of workspaces is an important element in the shaping of your organization. It is even essential if you want to adapt the Hiboo platform to your internal organization.

A workspace, allows you to associate your collaborators to a dedicated environment containing their area of responsibility or collaboration.

Steps to create a new workspace

1. Two ways to initiate workspace creation

1. Shape your Workspace

   1. Name it as intelligible as possible.

      → remember, this name will stand for a group of people and its equipment.

   2. Click on Select equipment to assign them to your workspace.

      → You will be able to complete the selection of your equipment later using the dispatcher feature.

   3. Assign the people involved in the use of the assigned equipment. 👩‍💻👨‍💻

      ⚠️  Make sure people have been invited to your platform

      1. Check the **members list**
      2. If you don't find the member, invite them.

   4. (Optional) Select the parent workspace under which the newly created workspace will be nested (see “Workspace hierarchy” paragraph for more details).

   5. Click on Create whenever you are ready to publish your new workspace !

   

   1. Manage your Workspaces from the Administration page.

      • Delete/Rename a workspace
      • Have a look at the number of users and equipment involved in each workspace

   

   Workspace hierarchy

   Your workspaces are evolving. You can now organise them in a hierarchical way, to match your organisation as closely as possible and make Hiboo easier to administer.

   

   How rights and equipment are inherited

   The parent-child relationship between workspaces

   You can now organise your workspaces into different levels. These levels have parent and child relationships.

   • A workspace can have an unlimited number of child workspaces.
   • A workspace can have only one direct parent (but an unlimited number of indirect parents (grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.).

   Notes

   • Hiboo World has 2 (direct) children: Hiboo Europe and Hiboo Africa

   • Hiboo Hauts-de-France's parents are Hiboo France (direct parent), Hiboo Europe and Hiboo World (indirect parents). </aside>

   • Level 0 is the root space. It is the parent (direct or indirect) of all other spaces.

   • Level 1 for workspaces directly linked to the root space.

   • Levels 2+ for the child spaces of the previous levels.

   Inheritance rules

   • Les équipements placés dans un espace de travail, seront automatiquement ajoutés à ses espaces parents direct et indirects.

   What will make administration easier for large organisations is the fact that certain changes are made automatically based on the relationships between workspaces.
